Our Mickey Computer Room

Today's post is going to be one of our little diversions. This is the room where my wife and I spend most of our free time. The first picture is my corner of the our Computer/Mickey Room. About 1/3 of our Mickey Collection is contained in this room.

And here some individual shots of the shelves.

The next shot is a picture of our animated Disney DVD collection.

Here's my Wife's Computer DeskAs you can easily see, she's a whole lot more organized and less cluttered than I am.

Engineer Mickey Mouse

Several years ago we purchased an animated Mickey Mouse that was in used condition. It wasn't in the best of shape and should have looked something like this. Neither of the arms moved anymore and he was a little soiled. But it was a Mickey and he was real cheap.

We took him home with the intention of cleaning him up and repairing him but once he made his way into our attic, he pretty much stayed there.

When I decided to convert the attic into a place for my model trains, we began the monumental task of cleaning out the attic and found our Christmas Mickey. My wife commented that he'd look cute in a little engineer's outfit and we did a little checking and discovered that infant clothing (size 3-6 months) fit the figure and we purchased a pair of bibbed overalls and a flannel shirt and redressed him. We figured out what was the matter with the one of the arms that no longer moved and managed to fix that as well. With the addition of a little engineers cap and some red checkered bandanas, our Santa Mickey is now Engineer Mickey and he'll be moving into the train room in the attic with his own display area. Anyhow, here he is as an engineer. I'm still thinking I have to do something about the red gloves.

The little lantern he's holding was a candy container that was filled with cinnamon valentine hearts. We picked it up on Ebay for about 6 bucks with shipping and it adds a nice touch to out little animated Engineer Mickey.
